Seeing Spencer

Just casually lounging on the dinner table chairs.  

Spencer has taken an interest in doing the geography puzzles that we got for Toby. He's getting quite good at them.  

When you really want to read one more book before turning out the light. And you want to read it while wearing your birthday crown.  

Not often we get to chill at the pool on a Wednesday. The community pool had a day where non-members can get in with their library card, so we took advantage.  

The hardest part is waiting for the show to start...  

Spencer insisted he was cold. It's possible he just couldn't wait any longer to wear his super hero sweatshirt. (Which DID look fantastic. Thanks, Aunt Rabi!)  

When you're singing you song...but then someone you don't know walks by and you have to stop.  

Getting gloopy in here.

There is nothing so thrilling as playing with toys that are not your own.

If you get up early, you can hangout with Dad before he goes to work. Worth it!  

Feeling cool (like a super hero, not like a popsicle).  

Spencer did NOT go inside Nile (just like last year). He felt it was safer on the outside. But he enjoyed looking at Nile.  

If it's going to be this hot, we should travel by ice cream truck.  

In the summer, the playground shrinks to the size of the shade.  

Throwback to trying to fly a kite in May.  

For many years before kids (and for Cotton, for many years before Jason) we went to go see Pilobolus at the Joyce Theater.  Today we made a special trip in to see a family matinee. At one point Spencer called out in excitement, "That's what I'm talking about!"  

We've switched things up at bedtime and bit. This means that occasionally out nightly "show" is in Toby's room. This means it was the Fox's fiest show. Fortunately photography was allowed in the theater.

He wanted to play "naps", which is where he pretends to sleep...but actually disappears from his sleeping mat.  

I love the relationship these kids have. This was Spencer showing Toby is papers from school.
